Arsenal will reportedly receive a compensation fee of £1.5 million following academy defender Ayden Heaven ’s transfer to Manchester United in January.
The 18-year-old, who joined Arsenal’s academy in 2019, made his senior debut in October against Preston North End in the Carabao Cup. Despite the Gunners’ efforts to retain him, Heaven opted to leave and signed a four-and-a-half-year contract with United, which includes an option for a further 12 months.
With Heaven’s scholarship deal at Arsenal set to expire at the end of the 2024–2025 season, the club attempted to secure his future by offering him a professional contract. However, the young defender declined the offer, paving the way for his move to Old Trafford.
